Three quick things:

  1. The Gazebo app for iOS has been updated with retina display graphics. The iPhone now has the ability to play videos previously exclusive to the iPad. (We had to wait for iOS4 to come out, sorry!)
  2. You can follow Awesome Inc on the new Digg!
  3. The Gazebo starts recording again next Monday. Episode 40 should be out on September 6th!

Btw Jake has a secret.

The Gazebo app now looks more polished and works on the iPad! Currently the iPad version allows you to watch bonus videos never before seen, but the iPhone version will have this as well soon.

The iPhone version has the iPad app built in so you don’t have to pay twice!

Gazebo iPhone App!

Site News — May 3rd, 2010

Hey guys, remember when I said we weren’t going to sell CDs anymore? Yeah. It’s been replaced with the new and cheaper official Gazebo On The Go iPhone app!
This application includes:

  • Every episode of The Gazebo
  • Every bonus we’ve ever made.
  • No internet required!
  • When iPhone OS 4 comes out the application will be updated to have every video The Gazebo has ever made.

I know, I know. You’re thinking “I don’t have 40 acres and a mule to give for this great deal.” Well guess what! You don’t have to. It’s just $2.99! We make a profit of $2.10 on every purchase, $1 less than when we sold $10 CDs.

You can grab the application HERE!

Reflecting On Awesome Inc

Site News — April 7th, 2010

Awesome Inc has established itself as one of my longest on-going consistently updated projects, besides my Twitter. As I type this there are 329 podcast episodes on this site. A while ago I moved the no longer updating shows into ‘the vault.’

We’re coming to a close on Season 3 (I should drop the seasons bullshit) of The Gazebo On The Go. The Gazebo is our top podcast. How do I judge that? Because it’s officially our longest running scheduled podcast.

After being around for over two years we have finally got our iTunes feeds working properly. The site is running incredibly smoothly.

And then the iPad came along. The problem? Hold on while I get a tad geeky on you. We have a flash audio and video player on the site that isn’t compatible with the iPhone or iPad. Even worse: Flash is dead, buggy, and causes more problems then it is worth. Even more worse: I use Firefox (and so should you). The issue? Open source fanatics want to require video only to be embedded as Ogg Vorbis. Not MP3 or MP4 like we use on the site. We currently make Flash versions of all of our videos, which makes the video look bad, requires another file, and is usually 10% bigger then the MP4 file we post. Firefox, instead of being pro-compatibility like they usually are, is using their users as political gain to try and convince every to go Ogg Vorbis. We will never go Ogg.

Our summer plan at Awesome Inc is to fix the video and audio player on the site and release The Gazebo On The Go iPhone app. Hopefully.

What happens when you give a dork his own voice? A place to spill his artistic styling? He stomps all over your face and leaves for greener pastures the second some capitalist pig offers him a buck. Well I say good riddance! I saw who needs ya! I say good luck at your new home Comedy Commodity.

Game Monkey. I Saw What You Did There. SteepFrugut Industries? They’re all forwarding to his new site. Yes, even Lahr Dee Darh LLC studios is gone. The iPhone app? Eh he’ll get his own damn iPhone app soon.

I’m gonna go get a pint of Oreo Cookies and Cream ice cream and cry myself to sleep.

Maybe someday, someone will love me.
